Once your products, store settings, and inventory are set up, the next step is to configure the POS terminal. This ensures your staff can log in, process orders, and sync data correctly.

1. Install or Open the POS Application

BIYO POS can be accessed directly through the browser.

How to open the POS system

1. Go to Configure on the top menu, then select Terminals.

2. Locate your existing terminal or click + Add new terminal to create one.

3. From the terminal list, click Open POS.

It will open on a new tab. This opens the POS interface where orders are created.

Steps to connect:

Each terminal has a unique verification code used for device pairing.

1. When prompted, enter the terminal verification code.

Terminal Verification can be seen on the Terminal List.

Enter your account PIN.

PIN can be seen on the Employee Details.

2. Assign Employee Login

Employees must have valid user accounts in order to access the POS.

How to assign an employee

1. Go to Users on the top menu, then select Employees.

2. Click on Edit.

3. Assign Role.

3. Save changes.

When the employee logs into the POS, their permissions determine what actions they can perform (e.g., refunds, discounts, reports).

BIYO POS terminals support different operating modes, printers, customer display, and optional hardware.

Terminal configuration options:

When creating or editing a terminal (Configure → Terminals), you can set:

After saving the terminal, open it again to confirm that the POS loads properly with the correct layout.

4. Verify Tax, Pricing, and Product Sync

Once the POS is open, confirm that all store settings are syncing correctly.

What to check:

1. Product List

  • Categories appear on the right side.
  • Products load with correct names, prices, images, and colors.

2. Order Screen - adding a product shows the correct price, quantity, discount, and tax.

3. More Options - hold, discount, gift card

4. Shift Management

  • Verify that shifts can be opened and closed.
  • Check summary details (sales, refunds, net totals).

5. Customer Display - if used, ensure the display device is connected and syncing.

If any product or price is missing, click Refresh inside the POS or verify your product setup in the dashboard.
